Who We Are:

Stoneage Organics is a family business run by Keith Martin specializing in organically grown produce. Our first land (at Oake, near Taunton, Somerset) was converted to Soil Association symbol status in 1988. Since then, the rest of the farm has gradually been converted so that since 1st January 2001 it has been entirely organic.

In addition to the farm in Oake, we also have a farm near Bishop's Lydeard which has been fully organic since 1st January 2001, giving us an approximate total of 70 acres.  This is where the majority of the growing is now done.

We have been growing organic vegetables since 1988 and have been running our Vegetable Box Scheme since 1993.

The Soil Association Symbol:

All organic producers have to be certified by a body such as the Soil Association. This includes an annual inspection, which ensures that all production methods comply with their rigorous standards, thereby maintaining a sustainable system of farming which not only helps protect the earth's resources for future generations, but also encourages greater biodiversity and preserves wildlife habitats.

Organic food, being guaranteed free of GMOs and artificial sprays and fertilizers, is therefore:

"Healthy Food You Can Trust"

What We Do:

Our main enterprise is the Vegetable Box Scheme, although organic lamb is available in season.  An organic apple orchard has also been planted.  Although the trees took a lot longer to establish than expected, they are beginning to bear fruit in reasonable quantities now.
