THE VEGETABLE BOX SCHEME  Each week, we pack a selection of fresh, seasonal produce into three sizes of box.  Potatoes and carrots appear virtually every week, and onions most weeks.  The remainder of the box is made up of various items depending on the time of year - salad crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers and lettuce in summer, and greens and roots such as cabbages, leeks and swedes in winter. Generally speaking, the larger the box size, the more items you get and the larger the portion!  Amongst the other crops grown are aubergines, beetroot, broad and runner beans, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, celery, chard, Chinese leaves, courgettes, curlygreen & cavolo nero, fennel, pak choi, parsley, parsnips, peppers, radish, spinach, sprouting broccoli, squash and more! The vast majority of the box contents are grown ourselves, although we occasionally have to buy in (from other organic growers) some of our carrots and onions at the end of the season when our crops have run out. HOW THE BOX SCHEME WORKS   Orders have to be in by Saturday night for Tuesday delivery.  Boxes are either: (1) delivered to collection points (see below) (2) delivered to your door if you live in Bishops Lydeard, Cotford St. Luke, Kingston St. Mary, Norton Fitzwarren or Taunton (3) collected from the farm (by order only - we don't have a farm shop!) You are not committed to having a certain number of boxes in any time period.  As long as we know, you can have whatever size of box you like, however often you like! The boxes themselves are collapsible and should be returned for re-use.  Not only are they expensive, it makes sound ecological sense to use them as many times as possible.
